Sean Davey is Managing Director of Reigate Grammar School International Ltd (RGSI). He is Head of the RGS Foundation and International Business Development, with oversight for the global Reigatian community. He leads on all international operations and strategic initiatives for RGS International. This includes consultancy and oversight for RGS China and all overseas projects. Since graduating from Durham University, Sean has over 30 years’ experience in education and business development.

Headmaster, Reigate Grammar School and Chairman of HMC 2018-19

Shaun Fenton has been Headmaster of Reigate Grammar School since September 2012, his third headship having previously led Pate’s Grammar School, Cheltenham (named Sunday Times ‘School of the Year’ under his leadership) and Sir John Lawes School, Hertfordshire. He attended Keble College, Oxford where he obtained an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He also obtained a PGCE and gained the degree of Master of Education in School Leadership. In addition, he holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship.

He is a key driver behind the international expansion of Reigate Grammar School and works in close partnership with Sean Davey to promote the ethos and quality of RGS and engage with international partners to bring the ‘Reigate Way’ to other parts of the world and develop international links and collaborations.

Arabella has worked in a number of top independent schools. She is passionate about providing outstanding education for all students. She believes in a personalised approach that supports the needs of the individual, both in terms of pastoral care and academic enrichment.

Arabella joined Reigate Grammar School in September 2013 as Head of Maths and was promoted to Assistant Head in 2017. She started her new role as Education Director of RGS International in 2020 where she is supporting their newly launched school in Nanjing, China, and the development of two further schools in Shenzhen and Zhanjiagang, scheduled for 2021-22. Her role focuses on all educational aspects of RGS International including the growth, development and management of the international programme.

Arabella was educated at Dauntsey’s School and the University of Edinburgh where she obtained a BSc in Maths. After working for a corporate law firm in the City she studied for her Masters in Mathematical Modelling at the University of Bristol and then went into teaching. She has worked at a number of excellent schools, starting at Haileybury then City of London School, Tonbridge School, Ardingly College and Caterham School.

 

Stephen Deady

Stephen was born in Ireland and attended the National University of Ireland, Galway, where he read History and Geography. He then went on to St. Mary’s College, in Twickenham where he received a PGCE in Primary Education.
Stephen has 15 years’ experience in education: 7 years in Senior Leadership. He has worked predominantly in the Middle East and most recently in China. He was Founding Head of Middle School, at Fettes College Guangzhou, a bilingual international school in China most recently. Before this role, he was Deputy Head of Prep and a founding member of the Senior Leadership Team at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi. During his time there, the school was named the TES ‘Best British International School’ in 2019. Stephen was also a founding teacher and House Master at Brighton College, Abu Dhabi. He is an experienced school inspector having been part of BSO inspections in the Middle East and in Europe. He is delighted to join us with his wife Sophie, and both of his children, daughter Isabella and son Jack attend RGS Schools, Chinthurst and RSM respectively.

 

Samantha Selkirk

Currently Samantha is Head of Lower School at Reigate St Mary’s where she is in her sixth year. Her role is varied and multi-faceted, with oversight of teaching and learning and pastoral care, whilst driving forward new initiatives plus the day-to-day operations. Recently she has played a more significant role in supporting the marketing and admissions team, areas which are pivotal to the success of a school. Previously Samantha was Head of Early Years  then Head of Lower Junior School at St Christopher School, Letchworth.

Having graduated with a B.Ed. (Hons) from the University of Surrey, followed by gaining the ASE Certificate in Science Teaching (Primary), Samantha has continued her professional development throughout her career. She is an advocate of the importance of continual self-reflection and staff training to ensure an ever broadening and in-depth understanding of innovative and proven pedagogical methods in order to guarantee the very best outcomes for every child.

In her thirty years’ experience in education, Samantha has been a class teacher from Early Years to Year 6, run a co-educational boarding house for pupils aged 11-14 years and sat on the Senior Leadership Teams of four primary schools in the maintained and independent sectors. As a school leader, Samantha is well versed in delivering INSET training to staff throughout the primary years in areas such as safeguarding, behaviour management, pastoral care, Early Years, learning and teaching, curriculum development, assessment, special educational needs and management. Furthermore, Samantha regularly leads workshops for parents in areas such as supporting children’s learning and development, curriculum and well-being.

Samantha has extensive experience in supporting staff through initial teacher training and the National Vocational Qualification (Childcare and Education), the induction of newly qualified teachers and the staff performance review process. She is trained in mentoring and coaching and over the last three years has worked closely with TES in mentoring staff through the Straight to Teaching programme (Qualified Teacher Status). Samantha is on the governing body of an IAPs preparatory school (nursery to year 8), is a member of the compliance committee and Chair of the Education Committee.
