TES Independent School Awards 2020 shortlist

The daily experience of the children in our care matters more than any award but it is nice to know that, when compared to other schools, our work is getting national recognition.

We learned today that we have been shortlisted for the overall School of the Year award for all categories by the Times Educational Supplement (TES). With over 2000 independent schools eligible, this is a remarkable honour as it takes into account everything that goes into a great education.

We have now had yet more good news, we have also been shortlisted for School of the Year for the creativity of our students and school community. I am not surprised that the quality and quantity of our artwork, the inspiring music and the professional quality drama at RGS is seen as award winning. I am delighted that the distinguished Times Education Supplement panel of judges have judged the creative ethos at Reigate Grammar School to be amongst the best in the country.

Of course, this follows the award earlier this year of of School of the Year 2019 by the TES for our pastoral care and also our ISP School of the Year Award for helping students engage with the wider community. This academic year we heard that we have been shortlisted for our contribution to social mobility and have been shortlisted for more national awards than any other school in the country.
